|
|The New York Times is reporting that Yale University, a beacon of Academic excellence, has released its first report describing its handling of over 52 allegations of sexual misconduct by students and employees, including faculty members. The charges range in severity from harassing remarks to rape. Yale University is trying to increase its transparency as part of an effort to rehabilitate its image after it was criticized for how it handled some cases of sexual harassment, in particular, a case involving pledges of a school fraternity. The new system that Yale has in place has centralized the authority for those cases into a single, University-Wide Committee on Sexual Misconduct.
